But for the most part, I was all worked up for no reason. I went with my mom and MOH to a tiny little boutique. Going in I knew FOR SURE that no matter what, I did not want anything sparkly. I like detail, ruffles, pleats, but I'm just not into glittery, sparkly, rhinestones or anything like that. Great on other ladies, but just not for me. But other than that, I was pretty much open to anything.
I did have a few inspiration photos though.
The first dress I pulled on, I loved, and my mom loved and then I remember hearing that the first dress you try on you fall in love with, but it's only psychological .
After trying on about 10 dresses, and liking them all, but not in love with any of them I was feeling a little discouraged. None of the dresses made me feel like I was actually ready to walk down the aisle. After walking out to the big mirror and heading back in to the fitting room I saw a dress that just caught my eye.
When I first slipped it on, it was huge.... I was almost swimming it. I was laughing, as was everyone else in the dressing room. But, when the bridal consultant used those huge clips and pulled the dress in, the laughs turned to ooooo's.
So on my first day wedding shopping I found THEEE dress.
Waiting for a picture? Well you're going to have to wait a little longer! :)
My main piece of advice for brides-to-be would be to go into looking for a dress with an open mind. Don't have your heart set on something, be open to trying on all sorts of different styles. You might fall in love with something you never thought you'd like.
What I ended up getting was NOT even close to what I thought I might end up with, and yet when I put on that dress, I knew (as did everyone else in the dressing room) that it was the one!
Stayyyy tuned!
